Problem Install Sentora 2.0.1

[Not Solved] Problem Install Sentora 2.0.1
I install without problems, i try Centos 8 and Ubuntu, finalñy use Ubuntu.

Is the same server, Ubuntu 20 Reinstall, and running the Installer, all the same, finally from SSh indicate all perfect, reboot and access and see, some services are down.

Wait time and check other time, and with the same result, the services always down are :

Quote:HTTP (port 80 is open)
HTTPS (port 443 is closed)
FTP (port 21 is open)
SMTP (port 25 is open)
POP3 (port 110 is open)
IMAP (port 143 is open)
SMTPTLS (port 587 is closed)
MySQL (port 3306 is open)
DNS (port 53 is open)

And this is the most strange, because never until i see this in other installs, never show HTTPS (port 443 is closed) or SMTPTLS (port 587 is closed)

Always i try see SSL module and dont show nothing, really very strange and i have domains add, also restart the server with the same situation.

Also i try reinstall Sentora and the result is the same.

When in all servers after install put only PHP Version 7.4.33 and works perfectly

Also i see that server works bad use : Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS, amd the server works fin use Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Is the only i believe happend and i thnk the problem is Image install from VPS provider

Thanks in advanced, regards.

[Not Solved] RE: Problem Install Sentora 2.0.1
As a note about the 443 showing as 'closed' - This may show until you set a domain to use an SSL certificate since apache is not listening on that port. By default, apache only listens on 80 (or whatever port you set it to if using a custom port). After adding SSL to a domain, LISTEN 443 will be added to the vhosts-conf and can be pinged to check if open.

I believe the same thing happens with the SMTPTLS. If you have not set up your SMTP to use TLS, it will also show as 'closed'.

If you look on my site HERE you will see on the service status that they are open.

Hi @[Franmm25],

I know that port 443 (HTTPS) will not show opened until an SSL vhost is active. This is for security. As for port 587 (SMTP) im really not sure. TGates might be able to help.

[Not Solved] RE: Problem Install Sentora 2.0.1
I can fix this and now put all fine :

HTTP (port 80 is open)
FTP (port 21 is open)
SMTP (port 25 is open)
POP3 (port 110 is open)
IMAP (port 143 is open)
MySQL (port 3306 is open)
DNS (port 53 is open)

Now everything is fine, but I have not used it even once, nor have I activated SSL, at all, before I solved it, I did not get the domains in the SSL module, I even tried to create the folders in the SSL folder in the root of the domains, with the proper owner, and not even those, and how I solved this, .....

Well, doing what one of you told me in this forum:

https://forums.sentora.org/showthread.php?tid=13046

Code:
setso --set apache_changed "1717016703"

Code:
setso --set panel_ssl_tx ""

Code:
setso --set apache_port "80"

Code:
setso --set sentora_port "80"

Code:
setso --set dbversion "2.0.0"

Code:
bash <(curl -L -Ss https://sentora.org/update_2.0.1)

When I finished doing this, the ports appeared open again, and in the SSL panel, in the module, the domains to create the SSL appeared.

I dont know what happend because i make fresh install, and nothing more, regards

franmm25,

This port 587 will remain closed until you manually setup postfix/dovecot with TLS cert. This is not a bug or issue.

You seem to be getting different results with your fresh installs everytime. Not sure what is happening. The code installs the same way everytime.

[Not Solved] RE: Problem Install Sentora 2.0.1
In the end, different results were received regarding the ports, because different providers were not providing clean images for the installation and in some cases they even had php pre-installed, what I do note is that those ports remain closed on 443 and 587. , 443 is released when using SSL and 587 I don't know if Sentora has any procedure to obtain the certificate, if so let's see if you can tell me how to obtain the certificate for postfix and dovecot, greetings and thank you for your help and happy that Sentora continues to evolve, I have been working on the Zpanel project for many years and I use it in all types of projects, thank you very much

I can see you're dealing with some frustrating issues after reinstalling Ubuntu and Sentora. Have you been able to pinpoint any specific changes or configurations that might have caused HTTPS and SMTP TLS services to consistently go down?

We have solved this issue with a quick-fix to v2.0.2 (Just re-run the update script, it will refresh the core code)
We have changed how port 443 and 587 are tested for being open.
Synopsis:
If you have no domains using SSL Certificates, port 443 will show as closed because apache is not listening on that port regardless if the server has the port open/forwarded.
Same situation with port 587. If you have not manually enabled port 587 with encryption properly, it would show as closed.

NOTE: I know that FrannySteph is a spammer. I just wanted to help clarify the problem Frannm25 had and that we fixed it.
