ZPanel unable to update to 10.1.1

Hi,

I have been trying for the last two days to update ZPanel from 10.1.0 to 10.1.1.

I've tried following varies sets of instructions available at:

I seem to get an error something like:
Error: Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: epel. Please verify its path and try again

Whichever method I use. Can someone please help? I get the impression this is supposed to be simple but it's proving to be anything but.

Just so you're aware I've tried to use the command:

bash <(curl -Ss https://raw.github.com/zpanel/installers/master/upgrade/CentOS-6_4/10_1_1.sh)
from http://www.zpanelcp.com/download/

but it does literally nothing. It doesn't launch a script, give an error - literally nothing.

I'm a novice Linux user (as you can probably tell) and this is completely confusing me.

I've not tried to install Sentora yet because I was under the impression it needed to be on a clean server and could not be used to update ZPanel.

Am I incorrect? I don't want a clean install.

I have issues running bash commands as they do literally nothing when I enter the command. Is there something other than copying and pasting the command you have given I would need to do?

Thanks for your quick replies!

I've had a read of the thread you've mentioned but it relates to updating from ZPanel 10.1.1 to Sentora 1. I can't get from ZPanel 10.1.0 to ZPanel 10.1.1 at the moment.

I've copied and pasted the code you kindly provided into the SSH terminal and it literally does nothing. Is there something I'm missing here?

Hi there,

Do you made your login properly? Do you have a timed session? Maybe provided by your host, check those settings, also are what is your ssh client?

Please note that Sentora was not released yet, that link is for a Beta version, Sentora will be available soon, but you can update your zpanel version.

According to zpanel you should be able to update using this link:

Try installing curl:

Then try again..


Or if that does not work try the old fashion way:

Hi Both,

When I tried to install curl I got as I expected a message to say it was already installed.

I've followed the instructions re doing the update the old fashioned way and now following the reboot ZPanel is completely unaccessible.

I've just tried to do it again just in case there was a bug anywhere. It asks for the mySQL password which I've entered and it confirms the connection is ok then it says:

I've had a look at line 37 of httpd-vhosts.conf as below.

Line 37 states:

Not sure if this is relevant but have included as starts with the same command, line 38 states:

Thats all strange, did you do the reboot?
The upgrade did not do much so after an reboot it must be the same as before.
Do you customized your zPanel before the update?
and line 37 of your httpd-vhosts.conf looks ok too me.

Hi,

I did the reboot each time I installed the update.

I've checked line 37 and it's the same both before and after the update which leads me to suspect something else might be at the root of the problem.

Didn't customise ZPanel at all, it's exactly as it was the last time I did an update.

NB: I've now restored the file to exactly the same file as before the update and it still won't allow me to start httpd.

I'm completely at a loss with this one.
