Mysqld blocks

There is a website that has heavy database usage, and after a while it doesn't load
Web page returns the following error:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

In this cases i restart mysqld, to make it work.
Please tell me what do i do to diagnose/fix it, thanks.

Mysql crashing here so, maybe increase server resources: ram and optimize your sql requests. Focus on indexes, use a profiler and avoid broad searches in the db.
