Free hosting will mean a lot of abuses like spam and that's not a good idea.

Also those willing to use your server for free are not likely to pay later. The % accepting to pay is too low.

i agree, better off offering a sign up for a sponsored account page, say for students, start-ups and so one as a pre-taste of what you can offer, say on a yearly basis.

Not everyone does stuff for the love of $$ I mean most of us buy a vps/server and dont use 1% of its capacity (I only have service pages). Why not let people use it. Here is an idea take a deposit. If there nice its returned in 6 months its a good way for people to try before they buy aswell. I run free gameservers with my extra Good luck BTW
