Question about Postfix domain and host names.

Question about Postfix domain and host names.
Greetings,
Currently my email setup is working fine (using SSL and Amavis as extras).

However all my internal email are from account@ctrl.vanguardly.com (for example postmaster@ctrl.vanguardly.com).
I would like to change it to just @vanguardly.com.

However the DNS of vanguardly.com does NOT point to the same IP as ctrl.vanguardly.com (CloudFlare)

To do that I believe I need to change mydomain on the postfix/main.cf to vanguardly.com.
Below there is my current main.cf setup:
Code:
mydomain = ctrl.vanguardly.com
myhostname = ctrl.vanguardly.com
The server hostname is indeed ctrl.vanguardly.com.

My question is, can I change mydomain to vanguardly.com without issues?
Also if there is a better way of achieving this, I would appreciate Smile

RE: Question about Postfix domain and host names.
It should resolve. It's better you think about it as the server reverse not your main domain.

What you mean with server reverse?
That mydomain should match reverse dns ip?
