Apache missing config variabes

Apache missing config variabes
Hello

I've just installed sentora on Centos 7 and been working on various configurations for the past 4 hours. When I was adjusting the performance and security variables (i.e. Security/Performance practices) within httpd.conf and php.ini, I found out that httpd.conf is missing A LOT of variables.

Is it supposed to be only about 350 lines?
On my backup server, the httpd.conf (centos 6.5) contains around 1000 lines...

Stuff like KeepAlive, Prefork, Timeout, etc are missing....
I've already read through google and through this forum, but the search feature on this website is a bit annoying when there is a 30 second interval limit, so I stopped after 2-3 searches.

Regards

RE: Apache missing config variabes
1. centos 7 use apache 2.4 VS apache 2.2 on centos 6.5.

2. Centos 7 default templates focus more on security and less forced settings.

3. sentora is currently using the main default config and adding only the minimum required settings ( disable some modules).

So unless you know what you are doing and settings you really need you don't need to touch them.

Same over php.ini ( 5.4 VS 5.3 ).

To add:

I was at lost when I saw the httpd.conf file missing a lot of lines. I have only worked with the 2.2.x version. I thought that sentora removed alot of lines for security purposes.
So I installed a test server with vmware and installed centos 7 and then installed apache manually. I found out that the apache 2.4 is "totally" different from the 2.2.
So it left me with a question if it's not there, does that mean it's not active?

I then started reading through the official apache site about the 2.2 to 2.4 migration and info, and found out that they are active with a default value and that's why it was not necessary to pre-exist on that config file.

Just wanted to throw this out there for other people who may wonder about this Smile
