In 3 months, PHP 5.4 will be dead. In less than a month, PHP 5.5 Active support will end.

RE: End Of PhP 5.4
That s********** we need to find a solution centos 6.5 still with 5.3.

We need to work on php independent OS updater. That's the best solution but require some work :-( and a lot of time.

Being able to use multiple PHP Versions would be good too.
However this should not be prioritary Smile

just a thought;
Why not ditch the use of OS repositories?
They become more and more different/diverse and the time from testing all the different os/versions will decrease and that time will go into making an Sentora repository which would be also more up to date..

Sentora's development takes way too long, so i'm transitioning to HestiaCP.

RE: End Of PhP 5.4
I've started since a while working on php compiling.

Having the basic package is not an issue. The problem is adding imap or many modules and that require finding the right dependencies/libs. Not an easy task and may depend on OS. Roundcube require IMAP for example.

Also once you use own compiled PHP you should maintain it and upgrade it your self. The good side it won't break packages dependencies like on centos remi can do.

started this:

Don't see the need to keep this dev under the hood and "hidden" from the PUBLIC.

BUT I expect positive feedback/posts not piling up requests there.
