Should I upgrade to v2.x.x immediately if my forum is stable on the current version?

[Not Solved] Should I upgrade to v2.x.x immediately if my forum is stable on the current version?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently running my forum on version 1.x.x and everything is working quite smoothly. I noticed that v2.x.x has been released for a while now, bringing new features and important security fixes.
I’m still unsure whether I should upgrade immediately or wait a bit longer until things become more stable. My biggest concern is potential compatibility issues with certain plugins/extensions after the upgrade.
For those who have already upgraded from 1.x.x to 2.x.x, could you share your experience?
- Was the upgrade process smooth?
- Did you encounter any major issues with data or plugins?
- If I don’t urgently need the new features, is it better to wait for a few minor patches before upgrading?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Thanks for sharing, Gregttersons. I'm also worried about the plugin issue. I will probably follow the suggestion to test on the staging site before officially upgrading.

That was a spam bot unfortunately...
You should upgrade to v2.1.0
There are many security fixes, coding updates (preparing for Sentora v2.2.0 php 8.2/4 release), and changes in the core modules like SenCrypt (SSL Manager) amongst others.

It is still php 7.6 so your forums should work as normal. As always, make backups of your sites and databases before doing any upgrades or changes.
Also, backup your Sentora core and database also!
