RE: Change hostdata to another directory
You can do a symbolic link to the network storage you target? But notice you need to have a fast san otherwise it will blow out in performance.

this can also be changed much easier in Module Admin>Apache Config>Vhosts Directory:

perfect. and yes. we have a gb switch as our backbone as well as our SAN. we have 8tb (16tb) running in raid 5 for redundancy. we should be ok with that speed. plus the server has 2 nic's. 1 www facing and the other internal so it wont get clogged up with traffic.

RE: Change hostdata to another directory
but changing the hostdata, will that affect the FTP locations at all? or will that be corrected on the next cron job?

RE: Change hostdata to another directory
both solutions should affect FTP/Cron/http.

But notice emails are in: /var/zpanel/vmail.

So it might be better if you want to host all email + web on SAN to use symbolic link for /var/zpanel/

RE: Change hostdata to another directory
I think, You will need to manually change homedir in ftpuser.zpanel_proftpd (table ftpuser in zpanel_proftpd database) for existing users and change location in script for creating new users.
