FTP Users

Hi

I seem to no longer be able to add users to my ProFTPD, i've confirmed that the username and password is correct.. any thoughts on this issue? I can see that they are added to the sentora database.

Command: USER zadmin_testtest
Response: 331 Password required for zadmin_testtest
Command: PASS ****
Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

Are you making sure you have the right IP and Port? Should be Port: 21 for any users created aside from the root, which will use SSH or sFTP with Port: 22

Yes i'm using that for 21.

All my other users can connect fine, just any new users i add get the msg from the orignal post

I am getting a similar issue with roundcube. Mailboxes are created in Sentora and work using a different email front end (Rainloop) and not roundcube. I haven't really looked into it aside from noting that the accounts are not being made in roundcube's database, but maybe these are related somehow or similar in nature to the cause. Have check through just about every related log file and nothing of interest.

It was all working fine for over a year until about 4-5 months ago.

I did check the DB, the user is there in the sentora Proftp table. thats whats odd.

All my others existing users work great for both FTP and SFTP.

We were talking about roundcube here. It means the webmail, not the FTP.

Oh Ok, so what about my FTP issue? anyone else have this problem? any trouble shooting tips?

I kind of accidentally highjacked the thread.  Only mentioned it as it was a similar issue with roundcube.
