Should I upgrade to v2.x.x immediately if my forum is stable on the current version?

If your forum is running fine on 1.x.x, you don’t have to rush the upgrade, but keep in mind v2.x.x includes security fixes that are worth having. The upgrade itself is usually smooth if you back up everything first, though some plugins may not be fully compatible yet. If you don’t urgently need the new features, waiting for a couple of minor patches is a safe bet. But if security is your top concern, upgrading sooner rather than later makes sense.
