PORT 443 - HTTPS
I've looked around and every answer i've found relates to SSL certs.
I can do that part what i cant work out is why the HTTPS 443 port is not open
Its open on my router (tested)
How do I open it ?
and why is it not already open by default on Sentora ?

RE: PORT 443 - HTTPS
You may not have completely followed the setup: http://docs.sentora.org/?node=64
The section about Override a Virtual Host Setting.

This will automatically add LISTEN 443 to the httpd-vhosts.conf
If nothing happens after the daemon has run, try restarting apache manually.

RE: PORT 443 - HTTPS
DONE THIS >
Override a Virtual Host Setting
go to Sentora -> Admin -> Module Admin => Apache Admin
Scroll to bottom to Override a Virtual Host Setting => Select your Domain / Sub-Domain
- In Port Override box enter : 443
- ensure that the checkbox labelled Forward Port 80 to Overriden Port: is checked
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

BUT PORT 443 still not showing as open in Service Status >

SO GETTING ERROR >

surely port 443 needs to be open ??? I've forwarded it on my router

RE: PORT 443 - HTTPS
Does anyone know why is this http://docs.sentora.org/?node=40 says open port 443
but service status does not show HTTPS port 443 open ?
I'm new to this and hit a wall Sad

Error 502 Bad gateway

Changed overide in admin panel to 443 and ticked the box as directing in guide
now get this ERROR
Error 525 SSL handshake failed

RE: PORT 443 - HTTPS
Port 443 is not coded into the core so it will not show as service status. (Maybe add as a feature request on our GitHub.)

Also, did you wait for the daemon to run and update your httpd-vhosts.conf before restarting apache? You may need to review your custom entries for typos or incorrect paths since this is the most common error.

RE: PORT 443 - HTTPS
@TGates
thanks for being patient with me...
I.m new to this & slowly learning

I went back over this tutorial > http://forums.sentora.org/showthread.php?tid=2535

https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html

In future for other domains I just start from this part of tutorial YES ?
Code:
service apache2 stop
./letsencrypt-auto certonly --standalone -d domain.com -d www.domain.com
service apache2 start

ALSO is it setup for auto renew ? or do i need to add something ?

RE: PORT 443 - HTTPS
Correct, to add domains use that part only.
There is a new way to do it but I have not gotten around to writing a new tutorial. But do not worry about that because you can switch to the newer method once I write it up.

To renew, you can make a system cron task to do that for you. I do not remember if it has been posted on the forums or not. I will look into it and get back to you in a day or so. If not, PM me to remind me Wink
