Fixing backup module

I Saw that sentora code was not changed for backup manager/admin.

Any one in charge of this? As this bug pop up a lot.

Nobdy in the team has done any work on it yet.

Lots of people, including me, have had problems with it before so it certainly needs investigating.

That backup module realllly needs some looking at... Its on the to-do list but unfortunately quite far down the list

Who worked previously on backup module fixes?

We currently have issue with multiple backups.

I think that we might offer a radical change here if we focus only on linux distro.

May be a shell solution ;-)

Will try to update you over this.

I'm posting here my current work area so if any one already working on that we could collaborate and avoid doing the same task.

TGates would be great if we have a DEV section instead of posting here like a support request.

Started working on bash script that would replace backup manager hook and solve the issues and offer better efficient / ressources use here as it's no more encapsulated with PHP.

It may be disabled/enabled thru backup manager indeed and I would extended further. I plan to dump DB and website in different files. Also if we add few fields we can then enable backup per user and only.

Should send beta this week. Beta testers are welcome.

Backup zpanel core databases and folder too...

why focusing only on users data.

Also a backup for the panel could be added into installers in case of problems they could use the backup to roll back.

5050 doesn't mean I'm not on centos installer but mostly in bash frenzy...

The purpose of this script is first step to FIX definitely backup module. Most of you are no more using it and those using it end up disabling it.

Step one replace all the features in native module.

Then I think about custom backup settings for each user. EVEN more been thinking about a one click restore DB or website backup, yess yes sound crazy but it's really so easy to do!

Enable back custom backup or or custom backup schedul... we will evaluate security here, still he could do it with ftp.

I like the backup module and setting a custom script work if your server is being used by the same customers. Adding more will end up in a mess.

We could add later remote ftp push.... synchro.

Focus will be also to build those on linux then deploy again on windows. It can be done and I know how to do that too.

I will be using it this way and doesn't prevent me to have another script aside that would do custom backup like hourly DB dump for key customers and remote FTP push.
