Upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 from 14.04
Hello all,

Well it happened, my co-owner upgraded our server from 14.04 to 16.04 and Apache would not start. I kept getting errors in reference to PHP5 using code php_admin_value. Apparently PHP7 does not support those commands properly without the proper dependencies. After searching for several hours, I finally found a command to install all the dependencies that Sentora, Suhosin and open base directory. That command is as follows:

Code:
apt-get install libapache2-mod-php

I hope that this will work and finalize the issue with upgrading to 16.04.

Thanks,
Russ

Ok nice fixes your short term issue but now you have a broken setup. As there is no suhosin for PHP 7.

Any website could access all the files in the system.

Yes, I was wondering if suhosin was working also.

I am not sure as of yet but I am not seeing any issues with apache yet. I am not sure how to test to see if it is working or not.

When you check phpinfo() and it says suhosin is installed Wink
Example:
Code:
This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine:
Zend Engine v2.5.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2014 Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v7.0.3, Copyright (c) 1999-2014, by Zend Technologies
with Suhosin v0.9.37.1, Copyright (c) 2007-2014, by SektionEins GmbH

Installed but not sure it supports php 7....

https://github.com/sektioneins/suhosin/releases

I don't see any support for PHP so I would take care over that.

Hey guys what about this post on that github? It says that suhosin shouldn't be used with 5.4 but just the plugin as it supports all newer versions

Its effecient, quick and fairly self explanatory to function. Very little effort needed to maneuver.
