An error occured, The package archive could not be extracted!

RE: An error occured, The package archive could not be extracted!
Yeah, All tests on my end worked. Confused

Make sure file and folder permissions are correct. Including /tmp (1777) and /var/sentora/temp (777) as well as all the /etc/sentora/ files and folders (755) All Sentora files and folders should be owned by apache:apache (CentOS) or www-data:www-data (Ubuntu)

All permissions are correct
However everything is owned by root, but I never changed it to root? so i assumed it was part of the install?

The default is root for the panel.

I think there is an issue with the installer. Had this same problem on a fresh install of CentOS with another community member. Me.B

All files and folders inside /etc/sentora/ should be owned by www-data:www-data in your case.

You will need to change the owner. Apache is running the unzip and can't write the files since the folders are owned by root.

Nope still getting the same error.
Everything is owned by apache (www-data), however when I run zppy install it downloads the package as root to the zppy-cache/package-downloads.
Not sure if thats normal?

Darn permissions! LOL

If it runs as root, then it should install as root and still work... Angry

I'm still 'new' to this permissions thing, switched over from Windoze a few months back...

The fact I can manually extract the archive should I just install the modules manually just to get them working?
Or do you have other ideas on whats going wrong?

chown -r www-data:www-data myfolder

That would fix the permissions

RE: An error occured, The package archive could not be extracted!
Okay. I fired up my old sentora server and did some tests
I can install xbilling fine on the old one, and not the new one

Did some poking around, the old server has everything set to root as owner,
I followed the zppy command back down the chain and the only difference I can find in permissions and file access is

/etc/sentora/panel/bin/zsudo
On the old working server its set to
-rwsr-srx and the filename is red

on the new server its set to
-rwxr-xr-x and the filename is green

as far as I can tell, all the other permissions are the same between the two servers?
