Hello its good the project is going again as the zpanel site has went down hill as they have stoped the forums support

i am using ZPanel (10.1.1) on my server and would like to upgrade. to Sentora
i just found this site today. the support forums where gone.
please let me know when the script is ready i be glad to test it.
i am running centos 6.7

I almost have a working upgrade script based on the installer, i'll post up for trials as soon as i've tested fully.

At zvps.uk i can launch pre-installed zpanel 10.1.0 servers & re-install very quickly so testing the upgrade might be easier for me than most

I've only tested on CentOS 6 so far and have a few minor bugs to sort out.

I've compared the database structures between sentora and zpanel using mysqldbcompare to speed things up and need to check over all the changes.

Me.B how close is your script? It would be nice to compare / merge and make sure we have caught all the possibilities

I've finished my first round of testing on CentOS 6 ZPanel 10.1.0 up to Sentora 1.0.3 and all seems well.

So anyone who is experianced with ZPanel/Sentora and would like to TEST the upgrader on a development system (NOT A LIVE SYSTEM) please have a go.

The upgrade works by:

• moving ZPanel directories into the correct place, removing all core and core modules (excluding cnf settings).
  
• extracting the mysql password from the existing zpanel cnf file
  
• performing a fresh install of sentora with the cnf file removed
  
• upgrading the zpanel databases to sentora databases
  
• installing new /etc/sentora/configs as coping with modifications would be a nightmare
  

This updater would have been much easier if we had made smaller changes in regular releases, however the changes made from ZPanel 10.1.0 to Sentora to date have been many.

Once we've had some feedback from beta testers of the upgrade we can look at adding these instructions to the sentora docs and putting out an official announcement.
