First time back in a while

Noticed that the ZPanel project pretty much died and this is where it has taken flight again.

Just curious if the recent release is stable enough for production?

installer versions question..
Posted by: Ron-e - 07-30-2015, 01:33 AM - Forum: General Discussions (Non-Support Related) - Replies (2)

When i check github i can see that Sentora installer 1.0.3 is released, but when i check the install url (http://sentora.org/install) i see that it's still on on 1.0.1.
Is there a reason why this is?

Sentora vs Vesta
Posted by: floriantraun - 07-22-2015, 11:55 PM - Forum: General Discussions (Non-Support Related) - Replies (6)

Hi,

I can't decide between Sentora and Vesta. I need individual-Domain SSL support, SSL support for the mailserver, multiple mail accounts & aliases, domain-aliases (for either mail and webserver) and the possibility that customers can log in and manage their own mail & domain (which isn't that important).

Has anyone got experience with those 2 CP?

Thanks! Smile
Flo

Deluge Torrent + Sentora
Posted by: mattewre - 06-24-2015, 10:44 PM - Forum: General Discussions (Non-Support Related) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I'm new to sentora and I'm testing it a bit on a new dedicated server. It seems very good!
I installed deluge for torrent (+web interface) but I need help to achieve this result:
> change the deluge download directory to the public html folder of one of the domains, in which I'll set up a directory listing tool to access to the files I downloaded from any internet browser.

Consider this:
- deluge default directory is /var/lib/deluge: torrent download works fine here
ls -l
drwxr-xr-x 3 deluge  deluge  4096 Jun 24 11:10 deluge

- I can change the download directory to another one, for example  /var/sentora/torrent: torrent download works fine if I set the folder correctly:
chmod 755 /var/sentora/torrent
chown -R deluge:deluge /var/sentora/torrent

- When I try to use as download folder any directory inside /var/sentora/hostdata (with usual chmod and chown) deluge says that its hasn't permission to write in the directory.

Any suggestion?

Can't connect to server " Timed Out"
Posted by: apinto - 06-18-2015, 03:20 AM - Forum: General Discussions (Non-Support Related) - Replies (10)

Hello,
this is NOT Sentora related, I just wanted some advice and being a active forum I decided to post here.

On my VPS I can't send emails to one server (lusodigital.net 83.96.162.35), I mean, it is just that server that I found at the moment.

Troubleshooting the issue I found it was not related to the email, I can't even ping the server neither the IP.

I contacted lusodigital.net and they told me ping commands are blocked (anyways I can ping from my office computer...), they said it is likely a routing issue and it is not their responsibility.

Anyone has some insight on how to troubleshoot this? I would really like to understand what is wrong.

Here are some testing i've done:

  • Ping from my VPS = timeout

  • Ping from other places = 100% OK
  • Send mail from VPS (sentora-postfix) I receive: (connect to lusodigital.net[83.96.162.35]:25: Connection timed out)

  • Send mail (gmail) works 100% OK
Thank you!!!

Thats new to me..  Angry

Quote:Hello dear client,

This is an urgent notification from our end to you:

Few hours ago police entered with a warrant into datacenter in Germany where our server is placed and confiscated one of our servers ( DE3 node ), to be more exact hard drives. Unfortunately by the german laws we could not be notified before the disc were taken away due to a fact that the data there could be erased. Unfortunately we cannot disclose the information about why the discs were taken away by the police.

We have been notified about this one hour ago and we are already on the phone with our DC on what to do.

At the moment we have switched the drives but unfortunately we do not keep customers backups, meaning if you did not take offsite backups your data is lost ( as the discs can be in police property as long as the suspicious about some activity that was reported takes.. ).

Please understand that we are as much surprised as you are and we are doing our best to resolve this situation.

At the moment we are in talks with our DC and in meantime we are already installing services ( the IP will be the same! ) for our clients there.

Also I would like to point out that, even its rare cases that this happens, we are not liable for any data loss or actions like this, even though, as we wrote before, its very rare!.

I must say that we planned to roll out backup system in following weeks for our clients ( as a feature ) but as this happened it has messed up our plans for that.

Rest assured that we will update you as things progress

Thank you for your patience and bearing with us in these hard times for us.
Yes i have back-ups and no i have/had no illegal stuff on it..  Cool
