FTP Connection Timeout's

[Not Solved] FTP Connection Timeout's
Hey Guys,
Im having a issue with FTP,
This occurs when like 200 files transfer complete successfully.

"Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Error: Connection closed by server
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Delaying connection for 2 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt..."

When this happens i cant even log into a single ftp account. This will be fine when i restart the PROFTP service .BUT this happens again after like 200 transfers complete...
I checked the firewalls too. but there is no issue with that...
Angry Angry

Does anyone here know whats wrong here?

Shy Shy
Thanks,
Chamath.

[Not Solved] RE: FTP Connection Timeout's
I haven't had or heard of this issue before, and a quick look through Google was not fully apparent. I did find this however that might help: https://forum.filezilla-project.org/view...hp?t=26946

Are you using TLS? I saw a couple posts related to that also.
I also tried a search for this: Google: proftpd stops in middle of transfer which has a few things that may help.

1. What firewall are you using? Did you try disabling it & testing?

2. FTP logs ?

Did you try to disable all firewalls just to rule that out for sure?

[Not Solved] RE: FTP Connection Timeout's
Hello, I am suffering same problem.

I created FTP using sentora panel but when i tried to connect FTP through FileZilla, It's returning following -

Status: Connecting to 103.211.218.76:21...
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server

I tried to connect over TLS, over without TLS, also tried passive an active both type of connections.
I already check, port 21 and it's Listing properly.

tcp6       0      0 :::21                   :::*                    LISTEN

That only says for ipv6, you need to open it for ipv4 also..(which is how you are trying to connect.)

[Not Solved] RE: FTP Connection Timeout's
Scanned your IP with nmap and got:

Quote:[root@centos7.local:/root] nmap 103.211.218.76

Starting Nmap 6.40 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2017-10-05 04:43 EDT
Nmap scan report for 103.211.218.76
Host is up (0.022s latency).
Not shown: 998 filtered ports
PORT   STATE SERVICE
22/tcp open  ssh
80/tcp open  http

Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 10.46 seconds

as you can see your FTP port 21 is not responding.

Either check iptables is running? Proftpd running?
