I am actively looking into a Suhosin replacement for my upgraded Sentora servers running PHP 7.2. I am just testing right now but once I find a solution I will be happy to share this with others.
I agree there doesn't appear to be much in the way of progress being made with Sentora, but this does not make it a dead project... not for me, anyway.
It's worth keeping in mind that, while security support etc. is due to end from PHP soon, PHP 5 will still continue working. PHP 7.2 is much faster and I can't see PHP 5 lasting forever as, gradually, developers are rewriting and upgrading there scripts to work on PHP 7.2, but PHP 5 isn't going to stop working overnight.
The main problem is Suhosin. It looks like Suhosin isn't going to come through (my opinion only). Right now you can run a Sentora server on PHP 7.2 but Suhosin gets tossed aside, making the server vulnerable to security breaches etc. We just need to find a replacement...
Note: I am not a member of the Sentora Team, just someone who uses Sentora and is enthusiastic about keeping it alive. When I say "we", I mean the community, not the development team.
