RE: ProFTPD Unit not found
Why are you installing back proftpd. I'm using on daily basis proftpd and never run in such issue. Would you explain more what files you modified?

Hello Me.B, thank you for the reply, i got the proftpd installation error message when i installed the sentora so the ftp service does not work and i can not use ftp on the server yourself, so i have installed proftpd manually but it also does not work, you can see the error message when i reinstall the sentora from the beginning in the attached image!

You can not use the desktop versions of any OS. You must use only a minimal install with no GUI or any web services.

As stated before it still has errors on install of the SERVER based software minimal install, no LAMP, no GUI.
using this iso http://repo.uk.bigstepcloud.com/centos/7...l-1708.iso

I rented a VPS to test this so its just not my system.
CentOS minimal install

-- Installing ProFTPD
Error: Nothing to do
Failed to execute operation: No such file or directory
Failed to start proftpd.service: Unit not found.

Think it might be wise to switch back to Ubuntu like I had years ago...

RE: ProFTPD Unit not found
I solved it for DVD version of CentOS did't try on AltArch, Proftpd is in EPEL. So
yum install epel-release
then
install sentora

Hi,

I also had this issue and found that installing EPEL then allowed ProFTPD to be installed.

However, looking at the installation script, EPEL should be installed by the Sentora script... however there seems to be a problem.

If you look at the installation script here (which redirects to GitHub):

http://sentora.org/install

and find the section which starts:

Code:
#--- Adapt repositories and packages sources

A few lines beneath that you will see this line:

Code:
EPEL_BASE_URL="http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/$VER/$ARCH";

However, if you visit the Fedora Project website you will find that the links to the packages now have an additional "Packages" directory in place, so this line needs changing to:

Code:
EPEL_BASE_URL="http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/$VER/$ARCH/Packages";

After that (at least in my testing), EPEL is installed correctly during the Sentora installation and it then proceeds to install ProFTPD correctly (and also MCrypt for PHP, which is something else that was missing from my installations).

Keith.

Edit: I think I spotted an issue with this for CentOS 6 users and have posted what I think is a better fix in a post below.

RE: ProFTPD Unit not found
Me.B, can you update the installer so this is fixed in the current release so it no longer happens? Thanks!
