PHP framework?

PHP framework?
Hi,

Question if any here is used to?

What is the best php framework you would use for building an API. Clean and light.

I'm thinking about F3:

RE: PHP framework?
F3 is nice , however not much active community, that is not good.

Please, use a framework with an active community like Lumen / Laravel, battle tested and you will get plenty of documentation that you will never be able to find for F3.

RE: PHP framework?
LARAVEL is too much bloated for an API.

May be lumen or silex... But love the F3 light framework. In coldfusion I'm used to FW/1: http://framework-one.github.io/ and the logic behind it is to keep it simple. FW/1 is one file! with all the stuff you need to have the conventions to build MVC apps, API's (caching! rest sevices)! Far from the bloated hype in new frameworks.

Lumen / laravel requirement: PHP >= 5.5.9. Would mean only run on ubuntu 14 ( default setup!).

Also saying F3 is not active is too easy:

check the github:

https://github.com/bcosca/fatfree-core

And the documentation is good. http://fatfreeframework.com/user-guide
Looks very good.

Not sure but see PRO: good documentation ;-).

RE: PHP framework?
I understand that Laravel is too much. WAY too much.
However Lumen is very very nice, but yes the php requirement might be a drawback for sentora Sad

I know I said it was not much active, but I wanted to mean less active than lumen

But it is a good framework, I considered it for a small project myself, shall you want to move with it, you got my vouch (for whatever it is worth Wink )

RE: PHP framework?
laravel community on slack sucks big time... over 8800 members and few if not none would tell me why to pick up lumen. If I asked such question in CF Slack I would get already a dozen serious replies.

RE: PHP framework?
Actually I do not share the same experience with Laravel community. But again I'm not on their Stack (might join).

To be honest the major drawback I see for Sentora is the PHP requirement, other than that I believe it would be an perfect pick.

Still, go ahead with F3, it's a solid choice too.
