Oh it appears. Not really sure how I could have gotten blacklisted since I haven't sent any emails ever with my server...

It doesn't really matter since even when I had 9/10 points I couldn't even send mails to outlook or gmail... lol

Probably because you were already listed on their private lists.
Who is your provider?

My server provider is leaseweb.

I think I know a possible reason to why I'm blacklisted. It may be because I have a small website which I just launched this saturday and it sends out notifications to users emails... may be the reason.

Unless you had 10000 new users, hardly the case.
Probably your ip was blacklisted before by the previous owner (happned to me already) or you got a infected server that is sending spam without your knowledge...

RE: Setting up a DKIM record - Improving my mail rating?
Hello,

The thing is it wasn't blacklisted a week ago. Might be possible that somebody has infected my server since somebody has tryed to bruteforce my root password.

Anyway my site sends out notifications whenever somebody likes, comments, follows, messages etc. and I don't have more than 40 users.

I'm suspecting that Gmail/hotmail blacklists servers that send only a few emails that go into the spam-box.

What I still can't understand is why I couldn't send messages to Hotmail/Gmail inboxes even when I had 9/10 score.

I only was missing a DKIM record and mail-tester said "Your reverse DNS does not match with your sending domain." but other from that  I had no blacklist or missing points.

Like I said, I do not believe it was caused by your website.
Neither it was caused by such a low volume emails being sent to spam box.

Not having a rDNS record on the first place could have cause some issues, but still, being blacklisted is a bit too much IMHO.

This is my server https://www.mail-tester.com/web-YQmr4w
Not even 9 (most are email content issues), no DKIM, no DMARC and I use around 7 different domains (shared hosting) and not even one of my clients has issues sending emails (and a couple of my clients send around 200 emails each, every day).

Hello,

I see what the big difference between our servers is. It's that your HELO & rDNS matches. I changed my reverse dns for my vps many times and to the correct value but it didn't update when sending emails.

HELO is the hostname where sentora is installed like: subdomain.domain.com?
And rDNS is set by VPS owner/provider?

Here are the tested values for this check:
  • IP: 37.59.******
  • HELO: ****.*******.com
  • rDNS: ****.*******.com

It does not REALLY need to match as long as the IP is the same,
