I use a desktop for personal use and recently I have a new machine and a new SSD.

If I clone MySQL data
Folders and files from / var / sentora
And also from / etc / sentora

Can I do this perfect cloning?

RE: to clone 'sentora' installation to another machine
I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago here:

http://forums.sentora.org/showthread.php...6#pid30696

but no one has responded yet.

Maybe there is a module floating around somewhere that already does a full Sentora backup or perhaps one of the more experienced members of the remaining Sentora Team can suggest a way to migrate everything from one server to another?

RE: to clone 'sentora' installation to another machine
Maybe we can design some

But I do not know if it would bump into anything in the Sentora that has server-to-server unique encoding.

If I were to design something, it would be in the direction of auto-replication and data redundancy resembling HD cloning.

ps:After losing the server, I put 2 SDDs in RAID1. Old HD had burned out sectors but did not lose data.

Another interesting idea would be API with an external service that would do self protected data replication with a key. and make a custom installation on the new server that includes that data.

sorry missed the pm.

You need to clone /var/sentora

Backup the db or if you have the exact same db engine copy db directory should be under /var/lib/mysql

Copy /etc/sentora.

Install new sentora on new box and restore the folders. That works fine.
